LEM introduce UV laser marking in its product line
LEM has recently introduced UV laser marking a standard procedure for frame and lens engraving. UV laser use a highly absorptive wavelength (355 nm) to mark parts. This high absorption rate allows UV lasers to perform “cold marking,” ensuring that no extra heat stress is applied to materials, including those with high reflectance such varnished frames. Marking with UV lasers takes advantage of high absorption rates on materials with high reflectance, ensuring minimal heat damage. This minimises soot and burrs while also preventing damage to the surface, so corrosion-resistant marking and processing is possible.
